Pupilpower
Competition is the annual British
Council competition for upper and lower secondary
school students. The aim of the competition is
for
upper and lower secondary school students in
Poland
to create webpages in English, which
will enable
them to make contacts with other English-
speaking
students in schools throughout the world.
In 2002 and 2003 our school was shortlisted for
the
final, which took place in Warsaw. We presented
our
English website in Roma theatre.
The competition this year will be linked to the
British Council "Imagine This" project. The
judges,
therefore, have specified 2 topics, which they
hope
will stimulate imagination of the participating
students. These areas are:
-the school of the future
-our favourite science fiction/fantasy book or
movie
The website should also challenge stereotypes
about
Poland and give some information about the school
and the region.
We want to take part in the competition this year
as
well. We enjoyed it last year and two years ago
and
in fact the British Council competition
encouraged
us to create this English school website. That's
why
you can read about Hobbit (our chosen fantasy
book),
stereotypes etc. We hope you enjoy it as much as
we
do .
