Fantasy, what is this? Is it a new Britney's album or maybe mark of crisps? No, fantasy is a literary genre. Does "Lord of the Rings" tell you something? Yes, this is fantasy but there are more fantasy books like "Hobbit", "Silmarillion" (J.R.R. Tolkien), "Harry Potter" (J.K. Rowling), "Discworld" (Terry Pratchett) and other.
Fantasy has a lot of subgenres for example: epic fantasy - "Lord of the Rings", heroic fantasy - Conan (Robert E. Howard), humorous fantasy (Terry Pratchett) etc. There are strange races in fantasy stories : orks, dragons, hobbits, goblins, vampires, and other beasts. Of course there is a lot of magic. Usually the story tells about a fight between evil and good. Fantasy requires open mind, and a lot of free time, cause you will not read a book in one-two hours it's impossible. And there is one more reason why you should have time - books are unearthly interesting. So go to a library or bookshop and take one. For a start the best will be "Hobbit" (J.R.R. Tolkien). ...and justice for all
